    High PROTEC Generator Differential Protection

    The generator differential protection relay MCDGV4 provides precise protection for medium- and high-power generators. It is designed to be highly adaptable to various grid code requirements – including the newest “renewables” requirements. The relay also offers undervoltage directional reactive power protection with reconnection function and an adjustable Fault Ride Through (FRT) capability with AR detection.

    The MCDGV4 package includes phase, earth current, voltage, frequency and power protection, as well as many generator-specific protection functions. The protection zone can also include step-up transformers (unit protection/ block protection).

    Safe and time-optimized maintenance and commissioning is enabled by the intuitive operating concept, with plausibility checks and extensive commissioning functions such as the built-in fault simulator. The parameter setting and evaluation software Smart view SE can be used consistently across the entire family of devices.
