Industrial and Medical Applications
Woodward designs and manufactures servocontrols for a diversity of
applications. Woodward products are found in civilian and military
aerospace vehicles as well as in biomedical and industrial equipment. They
are used for precision control tasks such as regulating the flow and/or
pressure of fuel, gases, or hydraulic fluid, or for controlling mechanical
motion.
Woodward products have been integrated into medical devices such as
anesthesia and oxygen ventilators, blood pressure monitoring equipment, and
ophthalmic surgical devices. In the industrial marketplace, Woodward
products perform a variety of tasks such as fluid management, actuation control,
vibration damping for the semi-conductor manufacturing industry, clutching and braking,
tension control, and the control of gas, steam, and hydro-turbines for electrical
power generation.
