ProTech®-GII Overspeed Protection Device
ProTech-GII The ProTech®-GII is an overspeed safety device designed to safely shut down steam, gas, and hydro turbines of all sizes upon sensing an overspeed or overacceleration event. This device accurately monitors turbine rotor speed and acceleration via active or passive MPUs (magnetic pickups) and issues a shutdown command to the turbine’s trip valve(s) or corresponding trip system.

The ProTech-GII is IEC61508 SIL-3 Certified and API670 & API612 Compliant.

ProTechTPS The ProTechTPS safety system is designed to be applied as a safety system for any size steam, gas, or hydro turbine, or plant process equipment. This safety PLC's fast (10 millisecond) response time, 0.5 to 32 000 rpm speed range, and integrated overspeed and acceleration detection/protection functionality, make it ideal for application on critical high-speed rotating motors, compressor, turbines or engines.

Trooper Safety System with Integrated Overspeed Protection
Trooper Safety System The Trooper is a safety PLC (programmable logic controller) with integrated overspeed protection designed to safely shut down any plant process equipment, engine, or steam, gas, or hydro turbine upon sensing a safety event. This stand-alone safety system accepts two speed inputs and seven discrete/analog inputs, uses programmed logic to determine when a safety event has occurred, then issues system shutdown commands and alarms. The Trooper uses five fast-acting, configurable relay outputs and a speed meter output to interface with/command the specific system or device being protected.

ProTech® 203 Overspeed Protection System
ProTech 203 The ProTech® 203 Overspeed Protection System monitors three individual magnetic pickups (MPUs) to provide overspeed protection for steam and gas turbines and other prime movers. The system replaces mechanical overspeed devices, especially in high-speed applications (above 10,000 rpm) when a mechanical overspeed device becomes unreliable.

The ProTech 203 is now available for use in SIL-3 certified systems (not as a standalone unit, but as a component in a complete SIL-3 safety system).

DSLC Digital Synchronizer & Load Control The Woodward DSLCTM control is a microprocessor-based synchronizer and load control designed for use on three-phase AC generators equipped with Woodward or other compatible speed controls and compatible automatic voltage regulators. The EGCP-3 MC is a powerful microprocessor-based system control and management package designed for the most demanding power generation applications. SPC Servo Position Controller
SPC The Servo Position Controller (SPC) is a servo-valve driver that accepts a DeviceNet or 4-20 mA based position demand signal from a system controller, and accurately positions proportional or integrating servo-valves. The SPC has the required accuracy, responsiveness, and redundancy required for steam or gas turbine fuel valve control. For valve position sensing, the SPC accepts feedback signals from one or two (redundant) ac devices or one dc device.A Windows based software program is used to configure the SPC, adjust tunables, and monitor parameters via a personal computer. For ease of service, SPC configurations can be done while connected or disconnected to the unit. Once a configuration has been created, this program allows configurations to be uploaded and downloaded to other SPCs as desired. Learn more from SPC product spec 03254.

SPM-D The SPM-D is a micro processor based synchronizer designed for use on three phase AC generators equipped with Woodward or other compatible speed controls and automatic voltage regulators. Woodward’s SPM–D synchronizer provides automatic frequency, phase and voltage matching using either analogor discrete output bias signals (depending on model). The SPM-D digitally measures true rms values ensuring measurement accuracy — maintaining integrity against harmonics, transients, or power spikes. A quick mains decoupling permits the SPM-D21 to operate in mains parallel without additional external protection relays. The SPM-D11 permits load/var sharing between several units via an analog load sharing line. The SPM-D simplifies the design of the switchgear cabinet, facilitates the commissioning, ensures the operation of the systems is user friendly, and increases the flexibility of the overall system.

UMT-1 Measuring Transducer
UMT-1 Measuring Transducer The Woodward UMT-1 is a measuring transducer for true RMS values. The UMT 1 can measure an electrical three-phase system with current and voltage measuring inputs. The primary measured values are calculated and displayed on the two-line, 16 character LC Display, and also transmitted by either analog outputs (configurable as -20 to 20 mA, 0 to 20 mA, or 4 to 20 mA) or a communication interface to a higher level-control system.
