Rotorcraft Yaw Pedals
Woodward’s low-profile design for rotorcraft applications does not impede pilot vision out the nose of the vehicle. Our designs for these units allow interface with braking system sensors. Woodward can also incorporate motor-driven pilot-adjustment features as required. Typically, our rudder pedal units contain brushless RVDTs, for maximum sensor reliability.
 
Fixed-Wing Rudder Pedals
Woodward uses a LRU (line-replaceable unit) “hanging pedals” design platform for fixed-wing aircraft where visibility is not a concern. These pedals are easily replaceable and can be mounted on the aircraft floor; to maximize serviceability, the pedals can be mounted in the cockpit bulkhead. The rudder pedals pivot from a hub that translates above the pedals, suspended by the rudder pedal unit chassis. Woodward designs usually feature brushless sensors for yaw control, electronic trim adjustment, motor-driven pilot adjustment, as well as interfaces for brake transducers.
