The TG-17 die-cast aluminum mechanical-hydraulic speed droop governor controls API611 steam turbines driving pumps, compressors, or generators where isochronous (constant-speed) operations is not required. The governor controls turbine speed by sensing turbine rotor speed via the input drive shaft, comparing this speed to an internal speed set point, then using a rotary output terminal shaft connected to the turbine’s governor valve control turbine inlet steam flow.
This self-contained governor utilizes an integrated driveshaft-driven ball head assembly to sense turbine speed, and an integrated driveshaft-driven oil pump to create the necessary output force to move/control the turbine’s governor valve.
