Valves & actuators for enhanced engine performance

Woodward has an extensive range of valve and actuator solutions to ensure better engine performance. They are designed to help monitor system activity and improve system functioning, effectiveness and performance. The valves are designed for electric and hydraulic actuators.

FEATURES & FUNCTIONALITY

Efficiency, performance and emissions play key roles in gas engine development. As engine performance advances are made, gas metering devices need to be more flexible and accurate.Woodward has an extensive range of valve and actuator solutions to ensure better engine performance. They are designed to help monitor system activity and improve system functioning, effectiveness and performance. The valves are designed for electric and hydraulic actuators. The range includes actuators (L-Series, F-series, proact gen 3 R-Series), cold side valves and throttles (L-Series ITB, F-Series ITB, Proact ITB), high-temperature valves (V-Band and Wafer Style available) and fuel-metering valves (TecJet™ 50 Plus, 52, 85, 110, 180).

KEY PRODUCT VARIANTS INCLUDE:

Woodward’s F-Series can either be used as standalone actuator or a combination actuator + throttle body (Integrated Throttle Body [ITB]) with integral electronics.Woodward’s ProAct Actuator can either be used as stand-alone actuator or a combination actuator + throttle body (Integrated Throttle Body [ITB]) with integral electronics. The Glo-Tech II hot valve system is a high-temperature butterfly valve mated with a high-performance electric actuator that is used to regulate high-temperature gases in turbocharged reciprocating engines. The valve is designed to be positioned by an R-Series electric rotary actuator through an anti-backlash coupling capable of tolerating misalignment. The R-series is available in four torque models – R11, R30, R120 and R200 – with valve sizes ranging from 40 mm to 150 mm.Woodward’s TecJet™ valves are electronic gas metering valves for single-point fuel gas control. Their integrated sensors and electronics provide the correct gas flow under all specified conditions, enabling the engine to run very lean with low emissions.
