Marine
Woodward provides controls, actuation and valves for engines and turbines in a wide range of marine and naval applications, including workboats, fishing vessels, ships, and many types of naval vessels. Our digital control solutions have the ability to perform supervisory control functions, including load sharing, load shedding, soft loading and unloading of the engine in complex propulsion systems. Woodward has a long and extensive experience in designing marine engine control, actuator and valve solutions ranging from bulk cargo ships to complex applications such as dredger, cruise ship, military, and vessels with high performance requirements such as redundancy, dynamic positioning, and ice class notations. Our control systems are applied in a wide range of marine based fuel systems, including electronic unit pump, electronic unit injector, and common rails systems.
Industrial Turbine
User configurable, standard off-the-shelf control platforms are available for standard steam turbine applications, while fully programmable control platforms are available for turbine OEMs and end users who need to customize algorithms, logic, and protection functionality for specific requirements. Control and trip valve actuator and turbine safety system product lines are available from which to select the correct sized model for the specific turbine and application.
Power Generation
Our technologies and services enhance energy conversion of renewable and fossil fuels, energy extraction and distribution, and electric power generation and distribution. Power generation OEMs throughout the world use Woodward engine management systems and genset controls, as well as our solar inverters and wind converters.
