David Hess is an accomplished aerospace and defense executive with over 40 years of engineering and industry leadership experience across corporate strategy, operational efficiency, and aircraft technology and manufacturing. He serves as a member of the Board’s Human Capital & Compensation Committee and the Nominating & Governance Committee.
David is an accomplished aerospace and defense executive with over 40 years of engineering and industry leadership experience across corporate strategy, operational efficiency, and aircraft technology and manufacturing. He serves as a member of the Board’s Human Capital & Compensation Committee and the Nominating & Governance Committee.
David previously served as CEO of Arconic Corporation, which specialized in precision engineering and advanced manufacturing of metals and components for aerospace, defense, and industrial applications. Prior to Arconic, David held numerous executive leadership roles over his 38-year tenure at United Technologies (“UTC”). These included Chief Customer Officer and Executive Vice President for UTC Aerospace, President of Pratt & Whitney, and President of Hamilton Sundstrand, a UTC subsidiary that manufactured advanced aerospace and industrial products.
David also serves on the boards of ATI Inc. and Southwest Airlines, Co. He holds a Master of Science in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management, a Bachelor and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Hamilton College.
