Senior Operations Engineer Matt likes that he can make a difference working at Woodward. “For me, working at Woodward means having an impact on the world,” said Matt, who has worked for the company for nine years. “Our products reach all ends of the world on the majority of commercial flights. So, if you’ve flown on a plane, you’ve relied on a Woodward product in some capacity. I think that that’s really cool, and it puts into perspective how many people rely on us to do our job.”
He finds that the Woodward environment helps him thrive at work. “The work Woodward does is what drew me in initially, but the people I get to work with are what make me stay,” said Matt. “I’ve been lucky to work with great people in many different departments across Woodward. The work we do is meaningful and impactful to ‘making the world go around’; members here take that seriously and it shows!”
The work he does supports both the aerospace and industrial segments and ranges from “making the parts we need to managing the process and improving it once it’s set up,” he said. “I make the process as cost effective and efficient as possible.”
He especially enjoys the visible aspect of working on aerospace parts. “Taking a flight back home to visit family in Wisconsin and looking out on a wing and seeing Woodward parts, that’s pretty cool,” he said.
