As a young boy, Tyler would fly model airplanes with his dad in the fields near their home. Aviation has since fascinated Tyler, whose father and grandfather both worked in the industry. Today, Tyler works in the same industry as a Repair and Overhaul Team Lead on Woodward’s aerospace servo team in Loves Park, Illinois.
He finds a real sense of purpose in his work at Woodward, where he has worked for five years. “I feel like I’m doing something important because people travel every day and every time I see an airplane I wonder if there are Woodward parts on it,” said Tyler.
Tyler appreciates Woodward’s collaborative culture. “There’s an open-door policy – you can always ask anyone anything, no matter what their level is and people are always helping each other,” he said.
He also is proud of the prestige with which people recognize Woodward in his hometown. “Woodward is one of the largest employers in our community and they do a lot of charity work that helps our area,” he said.
