SOS Servlink OPC Server
9927-1223_AU.exe
The Woodward SOS Servlink OPC server ("SOS") provides an OPC interface for Woodward controls. It runs on a Windows PC that accesses data on controls using the Woodward proprietary Servlink protocol through either a serial or Ethernet connection.
Woodward OPC client applications, such as Monitor GAP and Control Assistant connect to SOS by selecting a ‘Servlink OPC server’ connection.
SOS implements the OPC Data Access 2.0 standard, so other OPC client applications may also function with it. Instructions for using SOS from a non-Woodward client are available in the SOS help.
Disclaimer: Woodward does not guarantee proper functioning with any non-Woodward OPC client. Please consult a Woodward service representative for verification or troubleshooting of SOS use with any particular non-Woodward OPC client.
Note:
Customers with MicroNet controls programmed with GAP Coder 2.07, 2.08 or 2.09 are advised to replace SOS version 4.0 with this version. SOS 4.0 is slow to connect to such controls and may cause a MicroNet TMR control running one of those versions to trip.
What’s new:
- 4.15-2 fixes an OPC exception when validating items, fixes a Control Assistant browse tree refresh issue, and clarifies some error messages when downloading tunables
- 4.15-1 includes robustness improvements
- 4.15 Fixed some synchronization issues in the OPC server library which sometimes allowed SOS to hang or freeze when OPC clients were asking too much of it
- 4.14 Facility for breaking out redundant sessions from a Failover pair. This capability is designed for use with on-line change MicroNet redundant control pairs
- 4.13-2: Issues an appropriate error when an attempt is made to write an analog value array with the wrong dimensions
- 4.13-2: Improved namespace sort order
- 4.13-2: Preserves "Interactive" session flag in the configuration file
- 4.13-2: Corrects error message for failed IO_Lock command
- 4.13-2: The installation has publisher signing
- 4.13-1: Corrects SOS 4.13 bug which caused connections to be slow
- 4.13-1: Corrects a potential problem with settings filenames for ControlIds with characters which are invalid for filenames
- 4.13: Support for curve table values (A_CURVE and CAL_CURVE blocks) in tunable transfer
- 4.13: Updated run-time libraries (fixes a possible problem connecting over SSH)
- 4.13: Improved synchronization of tunable transfers
- 4.12: Fixes a synchronization issue with SOS Failover behavior when both units reboot simultaneously
- 4.12: Compatible with SSH controls which report an RSA fingerprint
- 4.11: No longer compatible with Windows XP (use SOS 4.10-1 with Windows XP)
- 4.11: Support for Sid schema 22
- 4.10-1: Fixes an install problem in 4.10.
- Syscon-tracking tag may be specified for failover configurations in the port configuration dialog
- Added support for smart string updates. SOS can achieve better string update performance with controls which can provide string hashes to indicate whether or not a string value has changed since the last update. Most Woodward controls with recent GAP programmer versions (6.00+, 1.00+) provide these.
- Various other bug fixes and usability improvements (see What’s New in the SOS Help)
