An API611 steam turbine mechanical-hydraulic governor with screw speed set range of 4000-6000 rpm, rated speed-droop at 6050 rpm at 2°, with a clockwise drive shaft rotation, and integrated overspeed test device (OTSD) for ATEX locations. The governor’s 16 N m (12 ft-lb) counterclockwise rotary output terminal shaft connects to the turbine’s governor valve to control turbine inlet steam flow.
Features & Functions:
The TG611-13 die-cast aluminum mechanical-hydraulic speed droop governor controls API611 steam turbines driving pumps, compressors, or generators where isochronous (constant-speed) operations is not required. The governor controls turbine speed by sensing turbine rotor speed via the input drive shaft, comparing this speed to an internal speed set point, then using a rotary output terminal shaft connected to the turbine’s governor valve control turbine inlet steam flow.
This self-contained governor utilizes an integrated driveshaft-driven ball head assembly to sense turbine speed, and an integrated driveshaft-driven oil pump to create the necessary output force to move/control the turbine’s governor valve. The TG611-13 governor includes a special Overspeed Test Device (OSTD), allowing controlled and safe turbine overspeed trip testing initiated from any speed setting in a safe matter.
